CDR Peter Thomas Nachod is a Senior Facility Design Consultant for the Division of Facility Planning & Construction, Office of Environmental Health & Engineering, Indian Health Service located in Rockville, MD.  In this capacity, CDR Nachod is the national program manager for all new IHS healthcare construction in the Aberdeen, Nashville and Navajo Areas.  CDR Nachod monitors the progress of projects in these Areas to ensure timely completion of planning and design documents in order to meet budget cycle deadlines, construction season limitations and other administrative and construction related constraints.  He provides consultation, guidance and technical support to IHS Headquarters and Area staff during review and approval stages of project planning.  CDR Nachod also oversees the IHS Post Occupancy Evaluation program.

CDR Nachod graduated from the State University of New York – University at Buffalo with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1990.  He earned his Master of Engineering with an emphasis in Project Management from the University of Maryland – College Park in 2003.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Maryland and Washington.

CDR Nachod has been an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service for 17 plus years serving in five assignments located in 4 states across the U.S.  He has been deployed on four separate occasions.  He has received many PHS awards including the PHS Commendation Medal, PHS Achievement Medal, PHS Citation, Outstanding Unit Citation and Seven Unit Commendations.

CDR Nachod and his wife, Kristine, have three sons and reside in Clarksburg, Maryland.
