2025 Community Health and Service Mission (CHASM) for Mental Health and Wellness

Background: National Health Education Week (NHEW) is celebrated annually during the third week of October and strives to improve understanding of health education’s role in promoting the public’s health. This year, NHEW’s (Oct 20-24) Theme is: Champions of Health: Empowering Through Education", focusing on the crucial role health educators play in addressing major public health issues.

The Mission: In recognition of National Health Education Week, the US Public Health Service’s Health Promotion and Health Education Team (HPHE) in collaboration with Prevention through Active Community Engagement (PACE) and the Public Health Professional Advisory Group’s Stakeholder and Community Engagement Sub-Committee invite you to join our CHASM.

This national effort consists of 1) hygiene kit assembly and 2) participation in Habitat for Humanity (or a similarly- focused organization) regional initiative. 3) Mind Mosaic Arts Festival

Target Participants: All are welcome to join Officers, Civilians, etc.

Key Details:

●       No Federal Agency or community-based organization sponsor this grass-roots initiative

●       Participation in this mission will be on your own time, at your own expense

●       This initiative can be undertaken as an individual or as a group

●       This initiative will take place between October 10-December 31, 2025

●       All tracking documents must be returned by January 10, 2026
